Hello, I read the post on dispelling myths where you stated that Native American were not allergic to Alcohol and 80% were not
alcoholics. You are correct in stating an ignorant myth associated with ethnicity. What is interesting is Native American very much like a lot of the Asian ethnicities biologically produce less Alcohol Dehydrogenase which is the enzyme produced in the body that metabolized alcohol
down in order for the body to get rid of it. Because there is less of this enzyme produced, it takes a lesser amount to create an effect,
but this, in no way represents a correlation between ethnicity and alcohol abuse.
