I think that it is a good way to use technology to preserve tradition. Technology can be harmful to indigenous culture but it also can be beneficial and this is a case where it is positive. In the Amazon, Brazil the Katukina indians have made use of cameras, sound equipment, editing and recording studios to preserve their culture. They learned how to film and made a documentary themselves called Noke Haweti (Who we are and What we do) as the name implies they show their way of living, tell stories and it became a DVD and also they recorded their traditional and healing songs in a studio and that became a CD. So as long as it is used to preserve those cultures I am for it.
