Acculturated because some are wearing shirts? That doesn't mean much, I think they still keep their customs, like food, the way they prepare it, chants, healing cerimonies, music, housing, crafts, paintings etc, I don't really see where the excess acculturation comes in. They still live in the jungle away form the urban centers and conduct all cerimonies in their original form. Most tribes usually are more acculturated than them. And to be less than that, only a few who have not had contact with white men at all. Check on the survival link I have on my tribesite you might find something.
      Peace and love!

I want to extend an apology that the video I saw when I clicked on the link was multicultural and showing young people playing fools ball (table soccer) and there was nothing at all like what I am viewing now...so why the mix up? I am very confused now as my comments on that site have no real baring on the subject..But I promise you this was not the video I first viewed..My aplogeze

No problem brother, that happens and is not a big deal, I am very happy that you saw the real thing and can share with me this vision that still exists. I am an activist for the CondorEagle union, and working on that with my friend Dan White Eagle a Navajo shaman who is going to help me bring another nation over here , the katukina tribe who I have close relations with, for sharing healing and spiritual practices. if interested let me know!
      Much love
      Peace!

When I see the story of the Amazonian people and what continues to take place there, I weep for our loss of indigenous cultures everywhere.
BTW I don't believe that the Dine refer to their medicine elders as shaman.( The discussion has been raised before and I have no wish to 'raise any dust' around the issue.)

Once and for all people the word Shamen is wrong..and anyone who proclaims himself/herself a Shamen or holy Man or woman, or medicine man or woman is a cayote...the correct term is medicine man or holy man but never shamen..never never never...and a true holy/medicine person would not and should not proclaim their "Holiness" as to do so is not only not traditional but most nations would laugh at such a person to brag

I am the one wjho doesn't know exactly how to use this word "shaman" as In Brazil we use this word to call the Paje or Cacique who have healing powers shaman and I was the one who used this word for Dan White Eagle, not him, so I am the one who misused it, my apologies, living and learning, I am just learning about the indigenous culture from here even though certain things are not learned, you just know somehow.
            Peace!
